Talk to me about DBH Pokémon AU okay I love all the different combinations

Post revolution deviant Connor still loves the Pokémon given to him by CyberLife but he’s so torn between moving on from his old life and disregarding the Pokémon that have come to love him

He finds them good new homes - but he’s horribly depressed afterwards. One day walking Sumo, Hank’s Stoutland, he finds a Magikarp splashing about helplessly in a small reservoir pond that was abandoned and is slowly drying up

The thing is a runt - absolutely weak as hell and would probably end up hurting itself more than anything it tries to attack. Connor doesn’t care - save the fish, y’know?

He takes out an empty pokeball and tells the Magikarp he’s going to find it a new place to live - and he does. He takes it to the river by the park and lets it go, but it doesn’t leave. It just stares at him >o0o<

“...what? Do you want to come with me?”
It jumps around and splashes, diving deep under the water and surging back up to soar back onto the boardwalk, just in time for Connor to toss the Pokeball and catch it

It’s Connor’s first Pokémon, and he loves it to death. With plenty of training and care it grows and grows and soon it’s the biggest Magikarp most people have ever seen. People laugh when Connor sends it out into battle, but Connor praises it and loves it all the same.

It evolves one day saving a victim’s life. They’re trying to talk a suspect down from tossing their hostage over the bridge, but they do anyway. They get shot, but the victim is still falling.

Before Connor can even jump in himself, Magikarp bursts out of its Pokeball and over the bridge, evolving into Gyarados midair and diving after them. It catches them in its mouth before they hit the water and brings them to shore, gently spitting them out

Everything turns out just fine, and Connor just hugs his Gyarados so tight. He was so worried when it just burst out like that, and evolving on the spot??
But he’s so proud

Illegal Pokémon trade gets busted by the DPD and Connor finds an egg. It’s not even being incubated. It’s a little warm so it couldn’t have been laid too long ago, but with all the freed Pokémon and it having been taken away before any bonding, who knows what it is

Well, it’s Connor’s now. Any Pokémon with a previous owner is reunited and any without are given foster homes if they were domesticated, or released back to the wild if they were captured. But then there’s this egg.

Connor makes sure to keep it warm and he takes good care of it, even Sumo looks after it. He was worried he would think it was a toy, but he seems to know better. He even growled at Hank once when he tried to move it.

It takes a lot longer than normal for its group to hatch. People start telling him that if it hasn’t by now, it won’t. It was probably a bad egg and that’s why it was separated from the others, but Connor doesn’t believe that.

One day, Connor hears noise coming from inside the egg and is so overwhelmed with joy and relief that whatever’s inside is okay. When it finally starts to crack, he’s right there, encouraging the little baby inside to break through and come out. He believes in it.

Introducing the cutest, fluffiest, most naughty natured Pichu in the world. It has blue cheek pouches and a spiky tuft of fur on its ear. Connor himself has a bit of a mischievous streak and likes to pull pranks, and Pichu is all too happy to help

Gavin hates the fuckin thing. It keeps tapping into all his electronics and making them shock him whenever he picks them up. He’s dubbed Pichu “Spiky Eared Little Shit”. It’s also insanely protective over Connor which is why it’s pranks single out Gavin

It doesn’t take long for it to evolve into Pikachu. When it does, Connor is mesmerized by the fact it somehow got cuter. That little spike on its ear was just a preview of how fluffy and unruly it’s fur would become as it evolved. (Think spiky guinea pig)

It’s such a smug little shit too, and together it and Connor are an unstoppable pranking force. They’re super in sync too, and it’s amusing to watch them actually talk to eachother. They have a special high five too. It’s cute. It’s all cute.

People keep asking why Connor doesn’t evolve it, and he just shrugs.
“He hasn’t wanted to.” ((btw Connor refers to his Pokémon w pronouns he doesn’t like doing object pronouns on living things))

One day though, Pikachu’s a little withdrawn and not up to its normal tricks, and when Connor asks what’s wrong when they get home, and Pikachu goes to its little bed (which it doesn’t really use since it sleeps next to Connor) and pulls out a little pouch

And brings it to Connor. When he opens it, there’s a Thunderstone inside.
“...where did you get this? Did someone try to evolve you??”
But Pikachu just shakes its head and points at itself.
“You...want to evolve?”
And it nods

Connor smiles and pets its fur.
“Of course. Thank you for telling me.” he says and holds the thunderstone out to Pikachu, and Pikachu puts its paw on it, and evolves.

BIG FLUFFY RAICHU BABY. Also tank as fuck and isn’t bothered by a damn thing. This Raichu having its sights set on you is a death sentence

Connor has no doubt it’s a cross breed, but he doesn’t care what it’s lineage is. Others ask if it’s half Minun or Pachirisu, but Connor just shrugs.
“It’s so unique, you could enter it into a competition or a show!”
Connor and Pikachu just share the same side-eye and say nothin

Also Pikachu does have a name, all Connor’s Pokémon have personalized names, I just haven’t named them yet. I can’t tell whether he would have deep in depth names like or like
“This is Punchy, my Lucario. Her name is Punchy because she likes to punch.”
