The reality is this: it does not matter who runs for President. The office, itself, is built with the purpose to maintain a carceral, imperialist state. The *only* option is abolition and decolonization.

The office of the presidency is illegitimate, in that it is built on unlawful and harmful premises. It exists on the backs of enslaved Africans and slaughtered Indigenous folks. It is sustained through the genocide and murder of Black and brown folks, domestic and abroad.

Due to this, there can never be a "progressive" US President. Only war criminals. Warren, Harris, Sanders, Beto, Clinton, nor any other (prospective) candidate can change this fact. Especially when many of them have an active (in)vestment in the disenfranchisement of Black folk.

We, collectively, should be committing to thinking through ways to build new realities. Reading more on Marxism, on Black Anarcho-Feminism, and committing to showing up for our community(-ies). The rest of this is set to fail you. Every time.
