I don’t know who needs to hear this but don’t give up

A thread.
I was a very smart and naughty child growing up, always crowned as one of the top achievers in my class
I was part of the Top 5 best performing Matric students at the Malamulele North-East circuit in 2006.
Left home to pursue my studies at Wits, I enrolled for BCom Accounting programme of which I failed dismally in 2007 and I got excluded.
Went to UP in 2008, things started off well, I was studying BCom Econometrics, I fell in love with Statistics then I switched to BCom Statistics.
In 2010, when I was doing my final year, things took a different turn, I dropped out of school.
I became an alcoholic after dropping out of school because I couldn’t stomach seeing people whom I thought were less “intelligent” than me prosper in life.
After a good 5 years of things going south in my life I came to a realization that my situation will only change if I made a change in terms of my way of doing things and thinking.
In 2015, I enrolled back at UP and managed to complete my degree in that year.
Graduated in April 2016 and I even got a job prior to graduation.
I got my big break in 2016 when I got a job at a nuclear manufacturing company in Haarties, I managed to get myself an apartment and buy my first car.
As I tweet, I’m a Senior Analyst at an insurance company, the moral of the story is, had I decided to not go back to school and register for my outstanding modules 9 years after I passed Matric, I wouldn’t be what I am today.
Never loose focus of the vision you have for yourself and grab every opportunity with both hands.
People will always talk especially when you’re not doing good, with me the people who were talking bad about me often call me asking me to buy them beers.
You might not be doing better than you would have imagined right now but keep the faith and have a prayerful lifestyle, God will do the rest.

Amen.
My transformation in pictures, before and after I decided to turn my life around.
