ALTERNATIVES TO ADOBE SUITE THREAD because fuck you

NOTE these are probably not the be all end all, just one cheapskate designer and illustrators opinion
PHOTOSHOP (for digital painting) <<< Clip Studio

Similar tools, built for printing and comic making, and when you own it it’s yours forever. Plus when they introduce tools you don’t have to fucking pay for them https://www.clipstudio.net/en ">https://www.clipstudio.net/en"&...
ILLUSTRATOR <<< Affinity Designer

If vector is your thing look no further. Functions basically the same except you only buy it once. Muscling into photos and publishing too so watch out Adobs https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/ ">https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/&qu...
Dreamweaver <<<< Brackets

Seriously? You can code in notepad easier than DW. But you don’t have to because Brackets is free and customizable with plugins for whatever you need. Ironically it’s owned by Adobe, because even they knew http://brackets.io/ ">https://brackets.io/">...
INDESIGN <<<< Scribus or Quark Xpress

THATS RIGHT WE GOING BACK BACK BACK TO THE 90s BAYBEEE QUARK FUCKIN XPRESS!!! Or if you want to feel more in the present you can just get Scribus for free lol

ADOBE XD <<<< Sketch

It’s called XD because that’s the face I made when I saw they had a prototyping tool. Sketch is subscription based but it’s 99 per year, as opposed to adobe’s 3000 (!?!?!?) https://www.sketchapp.com/ ">https://www.sketchapp.com/">...
Unfortunately I got nothing for motion graphics, Adobe has the market pretty cornered. If anyone has alternatives let me know! Additionally I don’t animate but have heard good things about ToonBoom, but I can’t confirm. Gl y’all!!!
