Let me try and explain some of the rationale behind the widespread hatred of buhari among a certain demographic in Nigeria

THREAD!

We have ordinary citizens who, before 2015, were beneficiaries of all sorts of illicit resources from the national treasury used to build:
Residential quarters
Schools
Churches
Hotels
High-end restaurants
Showrooms
Boutiques
etc

A. I have an "uncle" who hasn't paid his son's fees for a long time, but because he used to be a big donor to the school, he has promised to balance his debt before the election.
Now just imagine what is happening

Campaigns ate low key, very little money is being thrown around, and the prospect of money to pay the fees is getting dimmer and dimmer.

Simultaneously his hatred for buhari is getting deeper and deeper

The school propreitress too isn't happy
She believes buhari is a wicked man for affecting her business negatively.

There are several other parents in her expensive school who can no longer afford regular fee payments.

Many flats in an Abuja neighbourhood residential estate lie empty. Patronage has slumped here too.
The local church's offering plate has become extremely lean lately. The usual POS transactions and monthly transfers too have seen an inexorable decline

A high priced hotel is also suffering from reduced patronage. Its management has had to slash prices to stay afloat.
Also several high end restaurants, boutiques & car showrooms tell the same story of woe

They all hate buhari

Their usual customers have vanished

Everyone of them is biting their nails and praying the politicians can pull off a regime replacement

Their livelihoods depend on it
