Thinking of creating a thread about video games I've recently played through with my thoughts on them...
First up, Shadow of the Colossus. The minimalistic design makes the Colossus fights all the more special when you're not riding through the forbidden land in silence. The juxtapositions in the game's music and character actions communicates the tragic irony in it's story.
Breath of the Wild is the PERFECT open world experience. The game isn't evolutionary, but instead, Nintendo looked back on the legacy of the original Legend of Zelda and let's the player blindly explore Hyrule. There's so much freedom that you can't help but get lost in the game.
Undertale is about choice and free will. The storyline is so touching and it's characters are so charming that you can't help but get invested in them. The combination of turn-based and real time action in it's combat is an interesting blend that works amazingly well together.
