diverse trees maintained food chain, so pest attacks, virus were in check.
what british did was they completly destroyed this diverse jungles n replaced it with one tree jungles ex: Teakwood.

the devasting effect of it is not clearly understood even after 7 decades. lets see :

today the most mal nourished people r adivasis. heard so many stories of defeated king with his thousands of supporters taking refugee in jungles. jungle's had once the capacity to fed.

today in 5 yrs u can create a ayurveda doctor but from where one will bring ayurveda medicines. backbone of ayurveda completly destroyed by british.
selling ayurvedic plants n raw material was one of the main income for adivasis.

food chain broken. Birds doesnot eat leaves of teak/foreign trees. birds doesn't put nest on them. even the fallen leaves of this trees makes the soil piosonous.
Birds reduced pest/insect attack on crops increased. also many new diseases due to different bacteria/viruses.

Today at least we know our history is tampered its impact known n demand for review growing.
But we don't even know change in nature of forest creates any effect.
