** other countries are about fed up with the US and the USD. But what choice do they have? Can they get off the USD without starting war (military or economic)?
** what viable replacements are there? The euro? That zone is in crisis (high taxes, low employment, brexit). The Yuan? China builds cities that no one lives in to inflate their GDP. The Yen? Japans debt is worse than the US and they have no military.
** I thought btc would gain more international acceptance as a settlement currency when futures were implemented, as fluctuation could be eliminated through hedging. though there's probably more political hurdles than functional. https://bitconsult.co/2017/12/01/the-future-is-bitcoin-futures/
** the US can survive another 2008 because the world cannot abandon the USD overnight. Will be interesting to see if the Yuan or BTC gain any ground before the next massive blowup.
