in the UN, there are those who vote yes, those who vote no, & those who abstain. & those who abstain often “have just as much weight.” A sign of political maturity [...] was to first register black ppl, then organize them, & vote only when a candidate represented their interests
White supremacy tricks us into thinking 1)Dems & Reps are different & 2)That not voting isn’t a political choice w/ power behind it. There’s no power in being forced to vote for a “lesser evil” who kills the most marginalized while y’all are @ brunch.
What I found striking about el-Shabazz’s point is it’s basically the same point non-voters have been making for at least 2 years while y’all shamed them in your own fear. Voting just to be voting...voting w/o strategy...voting w/o other tools being used simultaneously is useless
Candidates have to be worth voting for. Voting for “lesser evils” has not saved us. Not when the system is rigged. Non-votes like in the UN are still political strategies.

Thinking otherwise is thinking in fear. Scarcity thinking which is how oppressors/abusers want you to think
