Crimes of Grindelwald was some bullshit but here are my thoughts after watching it

1)Credence isn’t actually a Dumbledore. Grindelwald just told him that to use his power against Albus. Also that baby bitd WASNT a phoenix because phoenixes have to be full grown before they can burn. Also we know Grindelwald lies and uses disguises often so...

2)Credence IS actually lil baby Corvus Lestrange and survived that Titanic-esque shipwreck.

3)Nagini was unnecessary as FUCK in this movie. She was useless and didn’t even talk. If you delete her from the movie nothing changes at all.

4)Leta Lestrange dying was pointless as hell. Her death was supposed to make Theseus and Newt cool again? I’m really over Black women dying for white people in fantasy and sci-fi.

5)For the love of GOD please recast Grindelwald. PLEASE. Dohny Jepp was fucking terrible and stale and looked like a loaf of bread that decomposed in hurricane water

6)What the fuck is going in with the timeline? How is McGonnagal even appearing in this movie? Granted they didnt say her first name but dude come on.

7) Queenie going over to Grindelwald’s side? Yall are all smoking fat rocks. Also: Queenie, Tina, and Jacob were entirely unnecessary in this movie.

8)What is the thing with Nicholas Flamel and Jessica Williams? What’s their little organization? That was interesting and I hope they dont drop that in the next movie.

9)Leta’s mom being a Senegalese woman who was essentially enslaved by a racist ass white blood purist and raping her is just.....the way JKR & Co. seem to be blind as fuck about how they portray POC in this franchise is irritating

10) The next movie doesnt need any more Newt and Friends. They don’t seem to even matter anymore in the grand scheme of things and I don’t see any tangible benefit to them hanging around. This story was clearly a Dumblewald prequel so why not bill it as that?

11) The navy Hogwarts robes were GORGEOUS and I thought it was interesting to see Gryffindors antagonizing a Slytherin but I did wonder if it was BECAUSE Leta was Black. The fact that that NEVER came up the whole movie was fucking irritating.

12) Back to Leta’s story. Does JKR know how fucking problematic and tone deaf it is to have an African woman Imperiused to do a racist white dude’s bidding and be sexually assaulted and imprisoned to die giving birth to a child the racist white dude didn’t even love????

13) I have a hard time believing race isn’t playing a factor in Grindelwald’s message spreading through pureblood communities. Race is DEFINITELY an undercurrent in the wizarding world and JKR needs to stop pretending it isnt. Especially after this Leta Lestrange shit.

JKR, we need to talk. I just need a word. Because what the hell is going on in this franchise.

PREDICTION: The skull Grindelwald was holding belongs to Ignotus Peverell. It makes sense for it to be him because he had the foresight to choose the cloak out of all the Hallows and its possible he could’ve been a Seer.

PREDICTION: The next FB movie will show the Malfoys, Blacks, and Potters. Abraxas Malfoy, Walburga Black, Euphemia Potter...all of them. Especially if the next movie does a time jump.

PREDICTION: Ignotus is the Potter tie to the Peverels. Cadmus is the Voldemort tie. Which means that....Antioch is the Dumbledore tie, the ancestor of the Dumbledore line. Which could mean the Elder Wand passes through familial bonds and why taking it in a duel results in death.
