1.
The first night he came home, he got a blanket, and a teddy to keep him company.
He stayed in that bed for a solid 20 minutes before he cried and got into bed with me, this was a ‘one off’ or so I thought.

The first two weeks of Gus being a small bean
Too small to jump on the couch for himself to curl up in between my legs to feel safe

He would stand at the end of the chair starring at me until I picked him up for a cuddle

Again, a mummies boy, forever attached.
Although his legs are getting a bit gangly now, and we’re getting the little wrinkles on his nose, but still not too big for cuddles.

FIRST TIME IN THE GARDEN

Gus discovered grass and dandelions.
He lay in the grass for about an hour pulling the dandelions out to try and eat them, I would keep taking them off him and then he’d go back for more.

Terrible times of teething and little sleep, but always still time for cuddles, this is the pattern that comes with sleeping in between my legs.

We were out for HOURS, he got so bundled up he fell asleep half way around and I had to carry him back to the car

But how happy does he look being off the lead and walking with me

Getting to be a tall boy now but still mummy’s baby

We still don’t understand what personal space is

This ‘sleeping in mums bed for one night’ worked it’s way into ‘I’ll just stay every night?’

I’m starting to become a grumpy teenager and sometimes I like cuddles, sometimes I like to hold hands, sometimes I like to take selfies

I realised that I really like mums brush, (and still do to this day)

I’m still all for cuddles, with everybody no matter how big I’m getting, they still love me.

THE FIRST TIME I SAW SNOW

It got on my nose and I ran inside the house for somebody to clean it, I ate lots of snow and also made yellow snow.

I still sleep with mum at night even though I’m not little anymore, I still make sure mum is okay when she’s in the bath, and I stare at her when she’s trying to watch the telly.

I have a white stripe on my nose if you didn’t know, mum says it’s special.

Mum started college, I didn’t want her to so I sat on her so she couldn’t go.

That didn’t work, so I resorted to stealing her ID so she couldn’t leave me.

Sometimes I feel like she isn’t coming home and I sit at the window and cry all day.

When mum comes home from college I give her the BIGGEST cuddles because Ive missed her so much.

I always try to distract mum from doing her college work

as it can see I’m VERY tall now

Mum found an abandoned baby bird called Dumpling and i REALLY liked him

I wanted to kiss him all the time, and I would follow him around the house to make sure he was safe#

Mum kisses me all the time and it makes my tail wag

She even kisses me when I’m sleep before she goes to work

I really love my penny, when I miss her I sleep with her teddy.

Penny said that she wanted a ‘Gus dog’ for her birthday so my family pretended to wrap me up for her birthday and then she came to unwrap me

It doesn’t matter how big I get, my family still love me, and I love them.

Sometimes my mum goes away, but she still FaceTimes me so I don’t miss her too much.

When she’s home, we cuddle.

Penny is my BEST FRIEND.
We sleep together, and we watch the world go by.

I watch mum draw and love to gay by her side.

Even though I’m big, and I’ve been here for 3 years now, mum still loves me and we still sleep together since that very first night.

Mum left me alone with a pot of glitter, I sniffed it, sneezed and it went all over my nose

I then pretended that I don’t know it was there and gave mum puppy eyes

I’m big, I’m tall, I’m muscly, and there’s also a sunshine heart on my bum.

CHRISTMAS GUS

Gus doesn’t want to get out of bed today.

This is what gus does every morning, when I leave the bed to go for a shower he gets in my warm spot.

I’ve been on holiday for a week and brought back these, I put them on him now he doesn’t want to get out of them he’s a holiday pooch

He cut his head with his back claw and had to wear a HUGE cone so he couldn’t open the wound anymore and he was absolutely disgusted by this.

Because we have always had gus on our knee from being a baby he wanted to get in the cuddle gap of me and lee when we were watching a film, and just sat there soaking up all the loves

Gus made it to TIKTOK in his new flowers to show off his absolutely pretty face while he was exploring the nature reserve

Little walks to the garage on the canal, he was very concerned when lee went into the shop and left him outside and let out a little cry
He’s the biggest baby I’ve ever met

It’s nearly Christmas and gus is ready with Gus jumper
Also: I had been gone all day and he wanted to hold my hand while I was in the bath

This is a thing gus has done from being a puppy, it I am not home or am in a different room to him or busy he sleeps on the clothes or something that I have recently touched
This was him sleeping on the towels I had used from the bath because I was getting dry

I bought a whole coconut and smashed it open with a hammer, before I could even have a bit myself gus had already interrupted this picture and stole a little

Lee comes to see us on a Wednesday every week, he couldn’t make it one week so we spooned
Later on gus slept on Lee’s dressing gown, I think he missed him just as much as I did

Thursday 21st May we lost the most beautiful, caring, loving best friend anybody could ever ask for.
Due to a surprise and very sudden medical reason we had to make the hardest and most painful decision to say goodbye to our Gusling - 1/20

I have a thousand things to say about my boy that I just can’t fit on, I’m in bits writing this post but I can’t bare to answer to people when they ask me why I’m not posting pictures of Gus.
I can’t describe to anybody the relationship me and Gusling had - 2/20

We we more than best friends he was a part of my family.

Some people will look at this post and think ‘it’s just a dog’ but Gusling was not ‘just a dog’ he was like my child.
I would get up in the morning when he was a puppy and we would have a cuddle and go back to sleep - 3/20

We did everything together there was hardly any time where we have been apart in our lives.

Gus would sit with me all day, we slept together in bed every night, watch films together go on walks and find new places, and then do it all again the next day - 4/20

Gus would be there when I fell asleep and when I woke up right next to my side if not on me.

The way you would wait for me all day, when you seen me threw the window youd cry so much you’d shake and run to the door and jump up so high you nearly knocked me over. - 5/20

I could always count on you to make me happy and you were the one being thats happy to see me every single day.

Gus has always been there for me when I needed him, if I was sad or happy, he would let me cuddle him when I was crying lick my tears. - 6/20

and just stay with me until I felt better, he would jump around with me when I was happy and have a mad half an hour.

We have a thousand memories, we’ve shared a thousand meals, we’ve had billions of fun days out, we’ve watched hundreds of films - 7/20

We’ve visited hundreds of places together, we’ve shared an infinite amount of kisses and cuddles together.

unfortunately I wish we could have some more but your time was cut rapidly short, you were 5 just a baby and it’s not fair and I’m so sorry you didn’t get more time. - 8/20

Mad half an hours running around, chasing lights, crying when you wanted attention or a kiss, stealing biscuits, chasing flies and bees until you caught one and changed your mind! The way you help opening presents, the way you loved to dress up. - 9/20

The happy Gusling wiggles you so when you’re excited you shake your bum so much that your entire body wiggles, your tail swaying so fast you could take off for flight, the white stripe down your nose which made you look different. - 10/20

Your cherry eye that made you our special boy, Gusling these are all the Gusling things we love, that were unique about you and we will miss every single day.

I’ll miss the way you steal the warm spot in the morning when I got out of bed. - 11/20

I’ll miss you coming to the end of the bed to watch me do my makeup, I’ll miss the way you watched me in the bath to make sure I’m safe

I’ll miss the way you tried to get in the bath with me. - 12/20

I’ll miss the way you used to bite and steal bobbles out of my hair because you wanted to play with them, I’ll miss the way you would bring me toys so we could play

I’ll miss the way you squeeze between my legs for a cuddle and a nap. - 13/20

I’ll miss the way you tried to steal my socks and run away with them, I’ll miss the way you would hide from the Hoover, I’ll miss the way you used to eat dandelions,

I’ll miss the way you you chew on my brush and hide it. - 14/20

I’ll miss the way you played hide and seek with me, I’ll miss the way you have little Gusling paws so teeny they could barley hold you up,

I’ll miss the way you like to wear clothes and hats, I will miss you with all of my heart. -15/20

Spaulding, Picklehead, fuzzy boy, Ryan Gusling, pretty doggy, Gusyling, Gussy gus gus, Gusling all these names are your special names from our family, all of these names made you a wiggly boy and you knew they were yours but your name was Gus and you were our special boy. -16/20

Your white stripe on your nose, your teeny tiny paws, your curly tail, your fuzzy bum, your dangly long tongue, your big sloppy kisses, your soft ears, the gus wrinkle on your nose and your bum wrinkle, your special cherry eye, - 17/20

All these things made you our special unique boy, we loved all of you and everything about you even if you were different.

I wish the last cuddle we had I wish I squeezed a little bit harder and kissed you a hundred times more but your time was cut short, you were 5. - 18/20

Just a baby but you didn’t need more time to know that you were loved, you knew that from the second you were brought home, but the last words I said to you was ‘I love you, you’re such a good boy and I’ll see you soon’. - 19/20

I’ll miss you in words that I can’t even describe, I feel like I’ve lost the most precious thing in the world and I’m so glad I got to share my years with you, Thankyou for being my best friend, Gusling I love you.

A really old picture in here when gus had a rabbit best friend which was with my Alice, I bet he’s back with her now having loads of kisses.
