If you’re voting in Louisiana, here’s your guide to the amendments we’ll be voting on

Amendment 1: would prevent convicted felons from running for office until five years after their sentence is served. Currently felons can run immediately after

Amendment 2: would require a unanimous verdict from the jury on all non-capital felonies. THIS ONE IS REALLY IMPORTANT. PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS

Amendment 3: allows donations of public equipment & personnel from one government entity to another. Currently the government receives a payment for any donation they make to another government entity

Amendment 4: would eliminate the state police from being able to access the Transportation Trust Fund for traffic control purposes

Amendment 5: would allow more eligibility for special property tax exemptions on property held in a trust. Currently this is only limited to whoever owns the property

Amendment 6: impacts homeowners taxes for people whose property value increases more than 50%

This last one isn’t an amendment but we are voting on whether or not to legalize fantasy sports betting within each parish
