So peep. Shorty and I started at my church the same day. It was my first day as a Youth Pastor and she was secretary to the principal of our Christian School.

She was at her desk and all I saw was that hair when She turned around I was like . I literally said “Woah”

So I don’t talk her for like the first week because she’s FINE, and well, I’m not. So I knew off the bat that it was a miss-match. I didn’t even try, homie.

I inquired about her to my home girl, and I found out she had a man.

I don’t believe in taking someone’s girl because if you can take her from someone, she can definitely be taken from you. So I left her alone.

Even so, I went home to Facebook stalk shorty because I had to see for myself.

And y’all. I found her twin brother before I found her. His cover photo was a picture of the two of them.

And all of a sudden I heard this phrase come out of my mouth.

“Bro, you don’t know it. But I’m gonna marry your sister”.

Don’t know why I said it. But I did and I’ve said I was gonna marry someone before.

But this time it didn’t even feel like it was me saying it. . There was a huge peace that came over me, and I just let it be.

The next year was interesting.

To make a long story short, I asked shorty out. She said yes!

I found out that friend that said she had a boyfriend lied to get with me

We went on three dates.

After the 3rd date shorty came into my office and told me that she didn’t see it working out. She had no peace about it, and couldn’t see her self being a Pastor’s wife.

It hurt me. But for the first time I didn’t fight God. I let Him close the door on that chapter.

Four months later shorty came back and told that she made a mistake and wanted to see if I would give us a second chance

She was a whole different woman.

She was already faithful to church and was a servants. But her heart was different. She was much easier to talk to. It just flowed.

This was the first time a girl left me and then came back. I was shook.

10 months later, I put a ring on it!

I finally told her about what I said the night I saw the picture of her with her brother. You know what this woman said?

“That’s crazy because the first day you walked into the office I thought to myself, ‘that’s my husband’”

She said she dismissed it because she knew what I was there to do and what I wanted to be, and that she didn’t see her self on that path. She loved the Lord, but couldn’t see herself being in ministry.

That’s wild. Because since then she’s:

Been my soul winning partner, done nursery, taught children’s class on Wednesday, helps in children’s church twice a month, sings in the choir, and has sang specials.

That girl ain’t know God had plans

In 23 days we will celebrate our 1 year anniversary.

It’s true what they say: “When you know, YOU KNOW!”

To those single: Be patient! God knows what you need! I was ready but she wasn’t! He had to grow her before He could pair us! Wait on the Lord!

It goes to show that we don’t know the mind of God. Don’t overshoot Him. Follow Him, and this is just one of the many areas that He will bring light to in your life!
