I'm posting this thread to share what I've come across thus far in the quest to find an image of Eunice Foote, prompted by @KHayhoe's request during a keynote for @AAAS #AAASmtg earlier this year. #EuniceFoote 1/
Being a Foote myself, I thought I'd try the #Foote family #genealogy route, and contacted @wethhist. The original settler Nathaniel co-founded the town of Wethersfield CT in 1634, and Eunice's husband Elisha is from his lineage.
Jessica Dean, Education and Exhibition Coordinator at @wethhist enlisted research historian Martha Smart. She sent me copies of several pages from a book in their collection, featuring photos of Eunice's husband Elisha, and their daughters Mary and Augusta, along with some text
citation of the book, provided by @wethhist:

they were only able to share a few pages of black & white copies via email, and it was sort of a "cliffhanger" in the text; I'd need to go visit @wethhist to make copies, and I still haven't had the opportunity to do so. BUT I discovered that my family actually OWNS that book!!
Here's the #Foote #genealogy book, originally published in 1907 (and looks like it). I took photos of the key pages featuring Elisha (husband) and daughters Mary & Augusta...

Here are the pages featuring Elisha, Mary & Augusta. Their daughters each have impressive life stories as well; Mary was involved with women's suffrage and Augusta published "a popular scientific work, 'The Sea Beach at Ebb Tide'" in 1903. #EuniceFoote

So, it was disappointing that this particular reference didn't have a photo of Eunice Foote, but I am hoping there may still be some threads to follow via the #Foote family #genealogy angle. #EuniceFoote
Martha from @wethhist also shared that the Foote family eventually moved on from Wethersfield to Colchester CT, so perhaps there are some historical resources associated with that town's archives?
I also tried contacting someone at the Foote Family Association of America, but haven't heard back. http://www.footefamily.org/
I have zero actual #genealogy skills of my own, and have no idea if there's a #Foote family community online...anyone? Calling in a Foote cousin with actual skills, @kfdurham - any ideas? #EuniceFoote
A brilliant suggestion by @KHayhoe: now that we know what Elisha looks like, maybe we can find Eunice in photos from the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848, since they both attended. Let's enlist the historians, and anyone with the image analysis tech that must exist! #EuniceFoote

update: heard back from a @WomensRightsNPS Ranger who told me "there were no photographs of the First Woman's Rights Convention and we don't know of any taken later in her life;" was referred to Seneca Falls Historical Society...more later! #EuniceFoote
