⠀ ˗ˏˋ . EMINEM'S TATTOOS ˎˊ˗
⠀ ⠀●what they are and mean:
⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀a thread 💫
⠀ ⠀ ⠀
1. Tribal sign: This may be my favorite because Marshall has said that he forgot what it means. He was high while getting it, and before he said to the tattoo artist "just give me a tattoo"
"Slit Me": Makes reference to the times where he was totally rock-bottom. He got it so he could look at it instead of actually doing it (committing suicide). He knows the effect this can have on his loved ones because of his uncle Ronnie; He knows his family needs him.
"Hailie Jade": His daughter, who has been mentioned lots of times in his songs. First, the tattoo was simple, then he added a parchment type frame.
D & 12: Together they form D12, which stands for a rap group Marshall came up, called the "Dirty Dozen".
Slim Shady: His violent, pill popping, controversial and explicit alter-ego. This simple tattoo will later turn into a bigger one in memory of his uncle, Ronnie.
"RIP Ronnie": It's a tribute to his uncle, Ronnie, who commited suicide. He introduced him to Hip-Hop and was one of Marshalls' only friends growing up throughout all the moving around. The sleeve tattoo shows the streets of Detroit, full of drugs, prostitutes and fire.
Marshall+Kim: This one is my second favorite tattoo. Below the RONNIE RIP it seems like Marshall added some roses and secrets skulls, plus the M+K. Kim is her ex wife and baby's mother. I found zero info about this tatt. This may be the proof of how deep in love he was with her.
EMINEM: Initially, that was it. A pretty lonely "EMINEM" in a Gothic font. At the end, Marshall decided to get it covered.
Hailie Jade: A portrait of his daughter, Hailie, surrounded by roses.
Bonnie & Clyde: In his song “97 Bonnie & Clyde” he equates his daughter and himself to the 20th century couple that robbed banks. Although having troubles with his marriage, he knew he would always have his daughter's love, and that all he needed in the world was each other.
Rot In Pieces: This one is aimed at Marshall's ex-wife, Kim Scott. He had it done after a fight with her, assuming they would never get back together. It shows a picture of an open grave with the words “Rot in Pieces” below.
Proof: A tribute to his best friend, the one who got him into the world of Hip-Hop, DeShaun. Known as Proof, he was a member of D12 and Marshall's hype man. He was killed in 2006. Marshall got the exact tattoo DeShaun had.
