Inconvenient truth - No matter how much you improve, no matter how quickly and how much value you deliver to your customers, stakeholders and the business, no matter how predictable you are at delivering on schedule - IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH. 1/n
Execs will NEVER say "just keep doing what you're doing". They will always want to "push resources" for more output. A noble way to combat this is to focus on the folks at your side, and the folks you're building stuff for (the ones who'll actually use your stuff").
At the end of the day, #agile (including #lean & continuous improvement in general) is for folks who care deeply about outcomes & doing the right thing by their teammates. We want to deliver business outcomes not because it improves the business but because it improves ourselves.
So keep doing what you're doing. Improving yourself and those around you. Making things better. "The business" probably won't appreciate it - even call you out on it because it "takes time away from delivering". We do this for our own satisfaction that we are making a difference.
