Veronica Portillo is underappreciated: a thread

so let’s take it back to the beginning of her challenge career. V was one of the main reasons her team won this final challenge, making her team the champs of season 3

Veronica performed exceptionally on the gauntlet 1, her fourth season of the challenge series. aside from winning alongside her road rules team, V won two of the lifesavers throughout this season, beating out her male teammates, including household names, Darrell and Abram

on the inferno, she convinced her team to throw their individual performances in an effort to guarantee her win which would lead to veronica receiving the lifesaver and sending katie straight to elimination. once again proving to be one of the strongest mental players in the game

the real world team voted veronica into the inferno leaving her dependent on winning the lifesaver in order to escape elimination. once again, she pulled it off, beating the times of darrell, abram, katie and her other teammates.

jodie from the real world team handpicked veronica to face off in the inferno. in her very first elimination matchup, veronica won by a landslide.

veronica was a third of the iconic girls trio, along with competitors rachel and tina. these girls ran the show back then and did not take any crap from the boys they worked with. they never backed down and made sure they worked the mental game.

on the ruins, V convinced evan not to vote her in although she was the main target. this resulted in a tie and the remaining team members came in to vote. the team voted 6-5 for ibis vs kimberly. veronica was safe and earned herself another week.

after taking a 12 season break, she returned to the franchise on dirty 30. her cast mates were unsure of her abilities after such a long time away, but she proved them wrong. in the battle royale mission, veronica solidified her team’s win.

after being chosen for nelson as a way to “hold him back,” the two won first place in their heat during the pirates treasure mission on dirty 30.

after being told she needs to prove herself (ha) by kailah/ct, veronica went into elimination against aneesa. given an opportunity to perform individually, v crushed the game and sent aneesa to redemption, making her 2-1 in eliminations.

after returning from elimination, veronica helped her team win the blackout mission. alongside players jordan and kailah who continuously doubted her abilities, v was the saving grace for this team. without her, they may not have won this one.

QUEEN V had marked her territory. she performed well leading up to this point, but this moment made it clear that the legend was back. after being silenced during the voting for girls, V manipulated the votes for the guys, sending leroy into elimination. the queen had arrived

on vendettas, V was sent to elimination due to an “on the spot” voting scenario. she faced aneesa in the crazy 8 elimination. although much smaller in size, V held her own until she broke her finger and DQed. she wanted to continue... doesn’t sound like someone who doesn’t care.

V has competed in 4 eliminations, 2 of which she has won. that’s FOUR eliminations in a total of 10 seasons (minus s32.) aside from physical abilities, that requires strong mental and social game.

veronica currently holds the title for the female with the MOST challenge wins (alongside evelyn) at 3. she has PAVED THE WAY for all your favs and there is NO REASON to doubt her abilities ANY MORE
