Today& #39;s Q drop links to a conspiracy theory that originated on Twitter. It purportedly explains why so many big name MAGA accounts turned on Q-Anon.

The theory basically says the 2016 Congressional Bill H.R.5181 gave $160M to "citizen journalists" to promote anti-Q propaganda.
Unsurprisingly, the theory is very confused.

It refers to the creation of the Global Engagement Center, which is responsible for countering foreign disinformation. "$160 Million" is the GEC& #39;s max budget over 2 years. It& #39;s not the actual budget nor an amount paid to journalists.
It appears that the GEC didn& #39;t get any money in 2017 (Secretary of State Tillerson turned the money down), and $40 Million was transferred to the GEC from the Defense Dept. only this year.

So, the entire department has far less than the purported $160 Million for journalists.
Of course, the other major flaw in the theory is that the GEC is a State Department initiative. So it requires you to believe that Trump& #39;s State Department pays journalists to deny all the amazing, secret work Trump is doing.

Not that these things are supposed to make sense.
