.I could have easily dropped out of university has it not been this woman. Younger sister of my former Maths teacher! Modimo!!!
.I never had to ask for anything. I walked into her office at the university and she could see gore poverty e dirang ngwana.

.the toughest parent I had. Also, a shock to the system because I wasn't used to a combination of caring and no nonsense involved older person in my life. Internal combustion & mental short circuitry e ntirang nako eo

.sometimes I had to go print prescribed books in her office because zaka dololo. I became her runner though. And that ke gana go rongwa blind. But there I was, from N block to gate 2 to buy her lunch at the complex. She insisted on her drumsticks

.every winter, she'd ask why do I not apply to be a security guard in the university during school holidays. earn the money and it be paid to my tuition fees. And I did. Fuck I hated night shift & I always felt stupid doing that parade. But ke

.she'd take me to CBC in town Plk to buy winter clothes for me. Because phefo ne e ratha ngwana, sefahlego se sehlefetĆĄe

.each time I got anything above 75%, bruh I'm running to that Science block like damn tornado to tell her. She'd make a big fuss about it. The confidence it built though. Always left her office feeling like I got this shit man.

.she called me by ancestral praise name, Tlou. Ofcourse this pulled all forms and sorts of strings, mental, heart and whatever bruh. Jerrrrrr feeling like you matter & still bounce between the walls with internal joy. Young nigga took all that to class, to slay!

.when I became chairpersons of ACTS, SIFE and BMFsc...she'd ask me "so chairperson, what did you tell your executive committee today?". Hahahaha

.when I was selected for Brightest Young Mind in 2006, I had no formal wear. Fokol! And I my dreadlocks were menacing. She was on some "Tlou, o kote meriri yeo ya gago muhn o ya bathong. Areye re yo nyaka marongwana a mabedi a mararo". Ya'all! Now I can't goloza about the hair

.she was there when I graduated. She still had issues with my earrings. When I started working she couldn't stop reminding me how I must build my mother a house. The pressure, yerrrrrrr. From the 1st salary bruh.

.she has 3 daughters who are now like sisters. And I was like her only son. I knew she was looking after other boys. She made us all feel so special. A mother!

.how do u gift a person who has done so much for yu, who has been incredibly instrumental in ur life? I don't know man. When she got married recently (I was there!), I offered to pay for their honeymoon. They had none planned. Today they're off to Zanzibar with @Me_l7's Davai

.oh and I joked with her and "...o'lady bona neh, ya'all old so every hour matters, so imma get ya'all a dishwasher because we can't be wasting time on dishes, it's 2018." She laughs
