Unpopular opinions: movie thread
Tilda Swinton is a good actress but her transformations are never as shocking as twitter makes her look like. There are a lot of actors/actresses who also do this
Every person who signed up that Polanski letter is getting a side eye from me, and like every second oscar nominated director of few last years did so
dick people sometimes make good movies. dismissing the movie after you know somebody who participated in it was a dick is ridiculous. movies are not done by single person, it's a 100+ people's work
i think that nolan can produce very technically beautiful films, but he lacks empathy and emotions, that's why he gets extremely rave reviews during the cinema runs of the movies, but later i can't even remember the moments that made me sad
DiCaprio's The Revenant wasn't the best movie of his to get Oscar for.
People hating on Pattinson without seeing any single one of his movies except Twilight are missing out on a very solid actor.
Thor Ragnarök reconstructed Thor franchise, completely changing characters and tbh gave me the same "wtf this is not the characters that were here before" feeling that Rian Johnson did with TLJ, but Taika is praised and Rian is hated. I'm okay w/both movies, i don't get the hype
As a cultural shift both Wonder Woman and Black Panther are amazing movies. As a superhero movies they are just average superhero movies. Increased box record comes from engaging previously unengaged audiences (women who never watch superhero movies went to wonder woman, etc)
the fact that Toy Story 3 won Oscar over How To Train Your Dragon still hunts me 8 years after.
The Fall is one of the most beautiful movies ever made, and the fact that like 3 people watched it saddens me
People won't support tv show with minorities as much as they claim they need one, unless they can ship characters in it.
and while we on it - shipping culture played one of the major roles in the way content is made now, and i wish i was smarter and had more time to actually write some article on this
Ah! Producers should try not to make everything into a franchise. Buy original scenarios/adapt books. Make movies. Move to another one. There are a lot of them. I don't want to see 1000 movies about iron man no matter how I love iron man.
If you want to franchise the shit out of movie, make a TV show. Ah, and while I'm at it? Netflix release model sucks. Idk why they insist on dumping whole shows at once, I have nothing to watch in like 13 hours. There is no real anticipation
luck of healthy relationship without on unnecessary drama pissed me of when i was a teen. i watched one tree hill just bcs they had that one pair that stuck together from episode 1 till the very end
