If we’re honest, the issue isn’t a cop from a systemically racist police department. Rather it’s the systemic blind eye to the underlying root causes of a generation of youth who have grown up with constant violence, trauma & lack of a secure, loving home & quality education
@RLopez15thWard of Chicago articulately speaks to this in a recent interview. He’s been to too many of funerals of youth in his impoverished district
Adam Toledo, 13 was out in early AM, engaging in gang recruiting. Where were his parents? Was his school open? (No). Lopez is a Dem who acknowledges we must ask and deal with these tough ?’s. Otherwise we’ll continue to lose our youth to violence, drugs, etc
