IMPORTANT HIGHWAYS NEWS
We are delighted to say that work is due to begin at Mile End roundabout in Oswestry imminently.
But first, we have some temporary traffic management measures to put in place to allow us to prepare. Boo, hiss.
Yes folks, this is a thread.
First of all, nobody likes roadworks. Traffic lights, Stop/Go boards, they can all be frustrating. That's why we are going to keep delays to an absolute minimum throughout this project.
But to get the work going we need to clear some vegetation and make sure all is safe.
The improvements will divert A5 traffic to a new roundabout, bypassing the current Mile End roundabout and also providing access to the proposed Oswestry Innovation Park.
Clearance work will begin at four locations from Monday, with traffic management in place.
A5 east of Mile End for approx two days from January 18th
A483 south of Mile End for approx two days from January 20th
A5 north of Mile End for approx four days from January 22nd
B4579 overnight for approx five nights from February 1st
We appreciate this may cause inconvenience for some - but we will work as efficiently as possible to minimise delays and we are really thankful for your cooperation.
We also know these works can occasionally throw up unforeseen problems so will provide updates if necessary.

Thank you for your understanding.
We hope it will result in long term benefits for Oswestry and Shropshire as a whole.
