No Sunday let up despite reduced reporting.

54,990 new cases
But look at positives by swab date

Last Tues (29th) now just short of 80k cases
Last Wed (30th) already 60k and likely tests still to be processed
Going up, not down.
Inpatients likely over 27k

You have to dig below the headline data to see where we are currently to the individual Nation reports. Scotland has not reported admission since 22/12/20 and in patients since 29/12.Wales no inpatient data since 28th but we know they are crying out for staff

. 454 (28 day cut off) deaths. Given it is a Sunday, not all nations reporting and a bank holiday weekend that is worryingly high.
When you look at deaths by date of death, remembering there is normally a 2-3 week reporting lag to get most deaths notified - well over 500 every single day since Xmas ALREADY.

THERE WILL BE PLENTY MORE DEATHS added to these days over the next two weeks
Remember the positive cases this last week.
They have yet to translate into hospitalisations and deaths.
But they will.
There is worse - likely much worse - to come in the coming weeks.
