I've said it before and I'll say it again:
MAPEH as an undergraduate major/program is a neoliberal scam designed to manipulate students into thinking that they could master FOUR fundamentally and theoretically different fields in the span of four years.

p.s. and this isn't to throw shade at MAPEH grads/students or those who'll take it. They're also just victims of an abusive/oppressive system that does not give importance to humanities as a proper field. Our educ system failed us by not acknowledging each field individually.
For context, it takes about 6 years to get a diploma and a bachelor's degree in Music Education from UP. That's a total of about 230 units taken in 3 different colleges: Music, CHE (FLCD), Educ. We have specialized training from early childhood ed, elementary, up to HS.
Then we cap it off with a full thesis AND a culminating activity/recital/concert during our final year. After finishing our program, we are expected to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) to be able to formally teach in schools. It takes 6-7 years for us to finish.
So it pains me when I see videos like these coming from DepEd itself. It's the blatant disregard for the learners' welfare that irks me when they could've easily tapped numerous experts and professionals in the field. This is a preventable mistake on the part of DepEd.
What's happening is a clear miseducation of the Filipino youth. And I say that for both in the basic ed level and in the teacher training level. We cannot keep producing teachers who cannot deliver in practice simply because their undergraduate program/training failed them.
This is a cycle that we must break by examining first and foremost the curriculum of programs such as MAPEH and overhauling it to meet the standard that gives Filipino learners a chance to learn from a well-equipped specialized teacher.
We need a better educational system.
