An underrated test legend - Younis Khan , a thread đź§¶
Younis Khan made his Test debut at the age of 23 against Sri Lanka on 26 February 2000. He scored a magnificent 107 in the second innings in a losing effort. It was glimpse of a player who would go on to become One of Pakistan's All-time Greats.
Younis Khan played test cricket till 2017 in which he played 118 matches and scored 10,999 runs at an average of 52.05 . Younis Khan scored 33 fiftes and 34 hundreds in his test carreer.
He is Pakistan's leading run scorer in tests and also has the record for most no of centuries by a Pakistani player. He is also one of the 4 Pakistani players who have scored a triple century.
He also holds the joint record for most no of double centuries by a Pakistani [(along with Miandad) (6) ]
Younis Khan is one of those few players who have an average of 35+ against (minimum 9 test playing nations) the teams he played against.
Younis Khan has an average of 45+ in every innings of a test match.
Younis Khan has an average of 50+ in both home and away test matches.
Younis Khan also was a decent fielder talking 139 catches.
His record as a test captain was not very good, though he averaged 55. 86 as a test captain he could only manage to win 1 test ,drew 5 and lost 3 under his captaincy.
Younis Khan top scored in an innings 48 times (one of the few Pakistani players who have top scored 40+ times in an innings)
