Far too often, when we are asked for our opinions about ethically challenging situations, we decline to speak up.

And that is precisely the moment that we are morally compromised and become part of the problem.
I can think of a few times I wish I had spoken up—and a few times I wish I had spoken up more forcefully.

The long-term regret I feel far outweighs the momentary discomfort I would have felt disclosing an inconvenient truth.
And the times when I have spoken up—and none of the appropriate actions were taken by those in a position to make things right—give me moral clarity that enables me to stay true to myself.
