Usually I reserve this kind of stuff for alt twitter but I think there's a few things that people need to hear when it comes to twitch, dealing with gaining and losing momentum as far as numbers go and how unhealthy this hobby can be.

Long post incoming:

In the 3 years I've been an affiliate I have streamed 4,823 hours.

That's 4,823 hours that I didn't spend with my wife, family, friends.

People come and go, the numbers go up and down. I have had to come to the tough realization that unless you are both consistent and lucky 2/?
you aren't going to make a ton of money (infact, if I extrapolate what I made over the 4823 hours I streamed, after everything is said and done, I made about $2.5 an hour and paid 30% of that to tax).

I've gained weight, I've neglected my health, I've stressed to the point [3/?]
of making myself sick, giving myself an ulcer and quite possibly exacerbated existing health issues.

Sure, I've made some life long friends and I wouldn't trade any of that for the world, but if I could go back and tell myself when I decided to give myself the goal [4/?]
of Partner in 2 years when I started streaming... I'd tell myself I was a fucking idiot, it's not in your control, enjoy what you are doing, ignore the noise, take more breaks and just fucking turn a blind eye to your metrics.

Everyone who subs to you isn't always going [5/?]
to be a life long sub... everyone who hits the follow button isn't always going to come back... everyone who chats in your channel isn't always going to be there... in fact, most people who sub only do it once, most people who follow never come back and people who are [6/?]
active in chat one day literally never chat again.

I guess the TLDR; is don't become over attached or over invested in streaming. Not everyone who hangs out is your friend. Your content won't please everyone.

Streaming should be a fun way to share your passion for [7/?]
video games, music, art, whatever the hell it is that you stream.

Life is too fucking short and time with others is too fucking valuable (covid has REALLY taught us this) to waste chasing a pipe dream where only a percent of a percent are largely sucessful. [8/?]
Stream what you want to stream.

Have fun.

Enjoy the company you do get.

Don't focus on what you don't.

My only regret in this journey is not drilling this in to my head earlier on, even though so many who came before me, warned me.

Thank you to those who have stuck by my side.

Let's continue to build an awesome community and be there for one another during the strange times that 2020 has brought us... if I were a betting man, I'd say things aren't exactly going to get easier in 2021.
