5 TYPES OF IMPOSTER SYNDROME
Oh hi it's me again, recently had some great conversations about what "imposter syndrome" is and what it looks like in different forms!
WHAT ARE SOME TYPES? Let's dig a little deeper... (1/?)
Perfectionist: Expecting their attempts to be perfect, and beating up on themselves when they aren't. "I could have done better" (2/?)
Superhuman: Trying to out-work everyone else because they aren't as good (talent/ability/capacity) as everyone else."I don't have time for a break I need to work harder" (3/?)
Genius: Believing that because something doesn't come naturally, they are bad at it, or a fraud. "I put all this effort in, and my result is only 1/2 as good as someone else's they did in less time" (4/?)
Lone Wolf: Thinking that asking for help reveals them a fraud, or falling far behind the pack. "I have to do it for myself if I'm ever going to get better" (5/?)
Einstein: Thinking that they should already know everything there is to know about the subject, and skill gaps expose them as frauds."I couldn't do this job, I don't have every single thing listed on this job advert" (6/?)
There are certainly other ways but it's important to recognize when imposter syndrome can sneak in! Do you find yourself habitually falling in one of the 5? I sure do (hello Einstein it me ya girl)
It's always good to take a step back and remember to give ourselves credit! (7/7)
