universities will absolutely screw over their departments that are trying to hang on to Black faculty and then blame the departments
universities will also do things like make it so the groups most likely to hire a Black faculty member are actually not allowed to hire them and then say "well, we did give you money, and you didn& #39;t spend it"
i& #39;m subtweeting pretty much every college in the country
Black faculty and white faculty who are employed by the same university don& #39;t really work for the same university.

If you& #39;re looking at other schools and saying "that& #39;s your problem and not mine" you are not looking closely enough at your school
So this is related btw . . . getting a faculty position or even tenure doesn& #39;t solve the problem because the institution is totally willing to make things so unlivable that you leave.
