There are no United States senators who have told me their vote to pass the 2017 tax bill was intended to toss the ACA. Zero. https://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1316156964536225792">https://twitter.com/sahilkapu...
If the 2017 tax law had included tossing the entire ACA, it almost certainly would not have complied with the Senate& #39;s rules allowing it to to pass with a simple majority, and Collins & McCain & Murkowski and maybe others would have voted no.
Lamar Alexander in particular has torched the lawsuit https://twitter.com/StevenTDennis/status/1006648588372529153?s=20">https://twitter.com/StevenTDe...
That said, Republicans could have stopped the lawsuit any time they wanted. The case isn& #39;t about constitutionality; a 1-line legislative fix would moot it.
The irony is Susan Collins only voted for the tax law when she got an agreement to vote on a follow-on bill *SHORING UP THE ACA.*
Does that make any sense if Congressional intent was really to flush the law?
