Today’s weird Marvel villain is Baron Gothenvald, created by @jeffparker and Kev Walker in 2011’s Thunderbolts #156!
In 1911, the occultist Baron Gothenvald and his entire Mignola-y castle disappeared, just as they were about to be sacked - but now they’ve reappeared in modern-day Stuttgart, and the Thunderbolts are on the case!
Outside, they’ve got to deal with the ghoulish flying Dirae!
Inside, they’ve got the Baron’s undead soldiers!
And in the darkest depths of the castle is the worst of all - the Incarsicus!
It brings the Thunderbolts’ worst fears to life!
Luckily, with the help of new Thunderbolt Satana, they defeat the thing!
Gothenvald has seen enough, though, and retreats from this plane of existence, vowing to return to seek his vengeance!
And the Thunderbolts are left high and dry!
