Unfortunately, people who need abortion care later in pregnancy, and their often-complex situations are ruthlessly weaponized by anti-abortion politicians to further a coercive ideological agenda that has nothing to do with the well-being of pregnant people. 2/

Anti-abortion people want to ban abortion at any stage & appearing preoccupied w/ later abortion is just a ruse to advance this goal. How do I know this? 3/

Cruelly demonizing those needing later abortions is abt banning abortion at any stage of pregnancy. E.g. in 2019 AL banned at any pt in pregnancy; GA, KY, LA, MI & OH banned abortion as early as 6 wks of pregnancy; MO banned abortion at 8 wks; & AK & UT banned abortion at 18 wks.
