                        Be deliberate about your focus and engagement. Even well-meaning folks can be tone-deaf or insensitive.                         Pick specific projects - phone banking, letter writing, donating and make them part of a routine. Write letters or post cards an hour a day over a cup of tea or coffee.                         Take this election season one day at a time. There are going to be any number of twists and turns.
