A thing I hear a lot is how the Harry Potter series is very important to people, it got them through difficult times, it holds a special place in their heart, etc. and like yes of course. It was a super popular book series aimed at young people.                         is normal and it doesn& #39;t make you a bad person but look: Rowling is a powerful person actively harming marginalized people with her rhetoric and your personal attachment to her books don& #39;t take precedence over the people who she& #39;s harmed speaking out against her
                        
                        
                        
                        
                                                
                    
                    
                                    
                    
                        
                        
                        It& #39;s not meant to make you feel bad about your own history or what the books mean to you but also you maybe need to consider not taking up space in the conversation if all you& #39;re going to do is demand reassurance
                        
                        
                        
                        
                                                
                    
                    
                                    
                    
                        
                        
                        Like I said. We all have relationships with problematic media because we& #39;re not born knowing how to critically consume things.
