i think the most crushing thing about adhd is knowing how many things i just won& #39;t enjoy for lack of easy focus / executive function
several friends have waxed lyrical about a game, one that requires you to repeat a 15-30 minute section over and over to play
it& #39;s the sort of thing that literally gives me a headache, frustration aside, and any mistake wipes out all progress
for other people it seems fun but for me it& #39;s "you should just apply yourself more™ simulator 3000"
i spent a good hour playing the game before realising how things would pan out, getting my hopes up, then realising i& #39;d never finish it
not the worst thing to happen, even though it does keep happening, but it is alienating
i& #39;ve tried explaining my needs and i& #39;ve been told "that would ruin the game!", but usually people just suggest things i& #39;ve already tried
anyway, that& #39;s why i don& #39;t ask people to recommend me video games, their version of fun is exhausting, and they can& #39;t see why
please note: at no point in this thread am i asking a question, please do not suggest video games to me.
