Our style of storytelling is built upon work done by @ogutumuraya and @MuthoniGarland (of @Storymoja) at the beginning of the decade.
They were working with stories from "Living Memories", a book by @alkags.

We were very taken by Ogutu& #39;s take on Said Ongwen Olaga (who served Elizabeth phlegm during her stay at Tree Tops before becoming the queen of Britain) & Hussein Warutere (who suffered 13 years of hard labour in prison for using a Whites Only toilet in apartheid colonial Kenya.

These performances happened on Sunday, July 22, 2012, and Sunday, June 16, 2013, on two storytelling shows: #TalesandStories & #TalesandStoriesII by @ArtsandOak.
The lead performers were @ogutumuraya and @ewamboye.

On this show at the @VillageMarket food court, organized by @Artsandoak, Ngartia tested out one of the stories that would be on the show.
The lessons from that informed the @KwaniOpenMic performance of the Muthoni Nyanjiru story (with @AbuSense_ and @_Njagi_).

And of course, lessons from the @KwaniOpenMic gig would lead to the first edition of #TooEarlyForBirds.

Mention anyone in the Kenyan art scene and we will find how they have contributed to the existence of #TEFB.
