why follower count doesnt matter on stan twitter

(and it more than me saying “its just a number”)

at the beginning of august there was a time where i had access to my account (about 400 followers), bena’s account (about 200-300 followers), and farris’ account (about 800 followers), and yes i was active on all of them

i would interact with people who i knew on my account but from farris’ or benas account most of the time, but i also made random tweets and was able to go through there notifications

in that time i realized that despite how different out follower counts were, i still got the same amount of interaction

its just how twitter works, most your interaction of from the same followers/mutuals which we had bonded with over the months

each tweet always was noticed by the same ten ish people and on no account i found more or less popularity

everything was chill

in other words, if you want interaction, dont try for the follower count

instead try for the close mutuals/followers, that always works best for me

obviously this isnt the same for everyone depending what app your on, and whether or not your a content creator (if you make fan art, edits, etc or if youre just here to vibe)

yes, it does make a difference, just not as much as ive seen people say it to be
