Back in 2018, I had an in person meeting that could potentially and eventually did change my career. I was feeling really down on myself but I knew I had to bring all my confidence and the dreams I had for myself to that meeting.

You know what did the trick, helping me at least putting on my brave face? The Black Panther. I know it might sound silly but I was messaging my homegirls and they were hyping me up. The strengffff of the Black Panther is in me too.

I drove across town blasting All the Stars on repeat, thinking of the brilliant thing Chadwick and Ryan has put into the world and that I as a member of the beautiful Black community, I could do it too. The meeting went great, I was at my best.

It’s not just that representation matters. It can inspire people in incalculable ways.
