I& #39;m facing eviction, myself...if I pay $1000 a month.

It& #39;s a casual contract, with HANDWRITTEN rent receipt I work from April to November I haven& #39;t worked this YEAR.

I was born in England & came here 37 years ago, though raised in a financially stable family, 2I& #39;ve worked since age 16,

after high school-as a declaration of independence from my parents.

As an expatriate, I took the matter of not being a PUBLIC CHARGE [not pejoratively, as with Trump] very seriously & as a citizen, I& #39;ve taken pride in the fact that I& #39;ve ALWAYS pulled my own weight,

always had a plan B-Z & NEVER filed for ANY assistance--not even disability, to which I was eligible.

COVID has taken away my plans A-Z, made me resort to GFM for help, putting up with insults, a scammer.

Oh, I wish...believe it or not, when it& #39;s all said & done, EVERYONE

will know someone who& #39;s been EVICTED. I pray YOU don& #39;t find yourself in my shoes. Believe it or not, I AM a real person, about to be evicted.

Ppl say the STATE won& #39;t allow it, you& #39;ll be fine. Sure, my state& #39;s extended the ban on eviction, but I don& #39;t want my state help me shirk

MY responsibilities, plus I was a landlady with a DEADBEAT tenant, so I wouldn& #39;t want to do that to someone else. It& #39;s not in my nature to leave someone in the lurch.

BTW, state DECLINED my app [FIRST, ever!] for rental assistance the applications far exceeded available funds.

I& #39;ve been seeing evicted people, with their property on the street on weekends & people sleeping in l cars at night.

States are not known for swift action..they can& #39;t physically put you back in apartments once evicted. Some of them are immigrants, so won& #39;t seek GOVT help.
