An interesting aspect of Gundam 00 that is seldom discussed is how each Gundam Meister represents depression differently, but it’s evident they all struggle mentally and until they overcome it, they can’t progress

Setsuna- he closes himself off from people, and hides his feelings, but every time his traumatic past is mentioned, he shows vulnerability and how it still haunts him.

He was willing to throw away his humanity, but he couldnt change the world before he changed himself

Lockon (Neil)- He is seen as bubbly and lighthearted. He is always there to uplift and motivate others around him, and put others feelijgs over his own.

But, he hides the dark thoughts and guilt he feels for his family being murdered infront of him and was caught up in revenge

Allelujah- opposite of Setsuna, he wears his emotions on his sleeves. He has a constant battle with Hallelujah, but is too weak to protcet himself and relies on the very being he resents to save him

He had to gain mental strength & learn to coexist in order to gain confidence

Tieria- His form of depression represents emptiness. He exists to only know right vs. wrong and to follow orders. He flawed others for messing up, but when he noticed he also makes errors, it mentally defeated him

He had to accept his humanity and understand his emotions
