As someone who literally used the BSD Tools to help propose to my wife, let me just say that I’ve been sad about this all damn day.

Here’s the email I sent Abby in the fall of 2010.
When she looked up, I was down on one knee.
I said, “You’re the love of my life. Will you marry me?”
She said, “Seriously?”
I said, “Yes. I want to spend the rest of our lives together.”
She said, “No, seriously—an email??”

I got @tobytobitobe and @LindsayLHolst to peer the email. Then @marthapatzer and Ben Simon checklisted.
Future campaigners won’t have the BSD Tools to help facilitate their long-term happiness.
Truly the end of an era.

Oh, and credit where credit is due: @dr_pugh had the brilliant idea to use an autoresponder rather than send this ask through the mailer.
And to be clear both @nataliefoster and @JoshuaFAPeck signed off on the idea. OFA 2.0 ran a good approvals process.
