Covid deaths are being overcounted, undercounted, or both. When gun shot victims are counted because they are covid+ or the preponderance of covid deaths in nursing homes are not counted as such, we stay inside in fear of a high covid death rate. We need accurate data.

Clarification: Nursing home deaths are being counted as covid but not necessarily as from nursing homes as they should be so we can understand our risk.

NY Dept of health made a change to its disclosures beginning around May 3. It now only reports coronavirus deaths for long-term care patients that died while physically present at their facility. So not if they die at the hospital. Still covid deaths but not NH covid deaths.
