shipping is great. love it. Do it all the time, but one downside is when an LGBT ship gets so popular and a tag becomes saturated it may sway a person looking for representation into making a purchase that in reality has nothing there for them at all

people get so into a ship they nearly make themselves believe that it& #39;s actually present in the text and will even accept reductive or meagre depictions as huge wins. It& #39;s good to make the distinction that fandom is doing the work here

I& #39;m not talking about subtext and queer coding. I& #39;m talking about pieces of media that are pretty much void of anything that get proclaimed as being "for the gays" because of fandom
