So myself, @KathrynNowotny @IDDoc1978 and other colleagues started @CovidPrison two months ago to track cases, deaths, and testing in prison settings. But, it& #39;s become a full-time job to make sense of the data. A thread! #1

#2 Every DOC defines their data differently. Some have cumulative counts. We watch other systems define people as "recovered" and subtract them from the total count. We add them back in.

#3 Sometimes facilities disappear, variables disappear. We make hard/sometimes evolving decisions about what to include/exclude. Sometimes we& #39;re right, sometimes we get context and make a different decision. We always document this in our data dictionary (coming to you soon!)
