So, workers at the Tyson plant in my hometown of Waterloo, Iowa, that is turning into a Covid-19 hot spot are being told to come to work with a mask and to social distance (impossible in a meat plant) in text messages that end with “We are proud of you! #TysonProud”

The mayor wants to shut the plant down. Iowa’s governor @KimReynoldsIA refuses to issue a stay-at-home order for that state. The workers at this plant are heavily black and Latino.

I have family working in that @TysonBrand plant, but it doesn’t matter if I didn’t: These lives are not expendable.
