Some editors have asked me to write a "why Africa will fail to control the Coronavirus" article. I& #39;ve so far declined because a) I just don& #39;t know and b) public health is as much about people as it is about facilities, and I believe in African people, if not African governments.

My gut instinct - not at all an expert opinion, just an instinct based on what I& #39;ve seen in some communities that I work with - is to have faith in African people. It& #39;s going to be hard, and the governments will complicate things, but I believe in African people.
