Lisa Nandy as Shadow Foreign Secretary is a solid appointment. Looks like the days of having Russian state agitprop repeated from the front bench are over. https://twitter.com/lewis_goodall/status/1246829775416692739">https://twitter.com/lewis_goo...

Lisa Nandy voted in favour of the NATO NFZ in Libya, a decision that saved countless lives and will likely never be recognised for it by the left. But we now have a Shadow Forwign Secretary who has supported humanitarian intervention, even when those decisions are unpopular.

As chair of Labour Friends of Palestine, Nandy also has a consistent record of standing up for human rights. A serious appointment for a serious job. A clear statement of intent from Starmer here.

The entire front bench have a hell of a job to do now, and they will be scrutinised no matter what decisions they make. However this appointment is a clear break away from the STWC-politics of the last leadership.
