I married into hockey love and almost 20 yrs ago started watching & loving the @MapleLeafs But I came to dread Coach’s Corner, the confident prejudice & how it seemed Cherry’s bs was part & parcel of hockey fandom in Canada...

The way CC made me feel + the way other fans would react to CC as if Cherry & @RonMacLeanHTH’s sexism, racism, and militarism was somehow ok/normal/‘what we were all thinking’ made hockey fandom & the ceremony of hockey night in Canada hostile...

Coach’s Corner ruined hockey enjoyment for me & I still resent them for that. Hockey should be for EVERYONE and @Sportsnet & @cbc were WAY behind the times keeping Don Cherry & @RonMacLeanHTH on the air...

Hockey Night in Canada is a historical cultural institution. My hope is that it is relaunched with commentators who know great hockey and can welcome & connect with everyone in Canada who loves the game
